History:
The Church was founded in Oakland in 1890 by Greek immigrants. It was the first permanent Greek Orthodox Church in Oakland, and services were conducted in English until 1917. During the 1920s, a new building was built and dedicated in the name of St George. The new building contained an altar, a narthex, a choir gallery, and a hall for meeting and gatherings. St George's Greek Orthodox Church This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Jordan.
