History:
The King Hussein Mosque (locally known as Masjid Al-Hussein or Aqaba Mosque) is located in the coastal city of Aqaba, Jordan. It was built in 1990 at the order of late king Hussein bin Talal. The King Hussein Mosque was built by well-known Syrian architect Zuhair Makhlouf, and the structure takes its bowstring arch design from ancient Nabathean architecture.
