Wesley Mandeville Methodist Church is a faith community in Mandeville, Louisiana. It was founded in 1828 and is a part of the United Methodist Church. Wesley Mandeville Methodist Church History The founding of Wesley Mandeville Methodist Church goes back to 1828, when the first services were held in a log cabin on the bank of Mandeville Creek. In 1832, the Methodist congregation built a wooden building on the same site, which was replaced in 1883 by a larger frame building. In 1911, the current building was erected and dedicated in honor of the founder of the church, Rev. William Welch. Wesley Mandeville Methodist Church Facts The church has a seating capacity of 400 and features stained glass windows, oak pews and a beautiful pipe organ. The church also has a bell outside the building, which is over 130 years old. It is rung on special occasions and at the beginning of the Sunday service.
