History:
The parish of St Richard Of Chichester was founded in 1860 by the Jesuits of Farm Street Church. The foundation stone was laid by Cardinal Manning in 1866 and the church opened in its present form in 1868. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Jamaica.

St Richard Of Chichester is one of only two churches in London dedicated to St Richard Of Chichester. It is also one of the largest Catholic parishes in London, with a membership of 5,400 people.
