Founded in 1945 by Father George Washington and Mother Eula Russell Washington, the church is part of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. (PAW). Bethel Temple Apostolic Church was founded in 1945 by Pastor George Washington and his wife, Mother Eula Russell Washington. After moving to Tulsa, the couple purchased property and set out to build Bethel Temple Apostolic Church. With the help of their two sons, the Washington’s constructed a small wooden house and began holding services there. As the church grew, the building expanded, allowing more members to join the church. In 2000, the church moved to its current location on Beech Place and is now over 6,000 square feet. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Jamaica.
