is one of the oldest mosques in Egypt. It was built in the 10th Century by the Fatimid Caliph Al-Hakem in the Muharram quarter in Old Cairo. The Mosque is located right next to the Citadel of Salah El-Din El-Ayyubi, one of the most important sites of Islamic history in Egypt, and is of great spiritual and historical significance for Muslims worldwide. It is dedicated to the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Aisha, who is highly revered by many Muslims. The mosque is renowned for its colorful and intricate interior tiles and domes. Architecture:

The Mosque of Al-Sayyidah Aisha is located in Alexandria, Egypt. It is a late Ottoman-style mosque which was built in 1890 during the reign of Khedive Abbas II. It was designed by architect Bechara El-Khoury, with marble and granite decoration and it is the only surviving Ottoman-style mosque in Alexandria. The mosque features two minarets, an octagonal prayer hall, and a main dome, as well as two smaller domes on the north and south sides. The façade of the building is made of red brick, while the interior is done in marble and decorated in the Ottoman style. The interior walls are decorated with verses of the Qur’an and have wooden arcades for the qibla wall. The marble qibla mihrab is located in the center of the masonry prayer hall and has two windows made of stained glass. The main dome of the Mosque is constructed of brick and reinforced with iron scaffolding covered with veneer. There are four smaller domes on the northern and southern sides. The interior walls are decorated with Quranic verses and carpets to cover the floor. The mihrab is decorated with white marble and the minbar stands between the western and eastern arcades. The Mosque also has a library, a library tank, and an outdoor courtyard. The courtyard contains a fountain, three columns, and four arches. There are also four doors and two arches leading to the courtyard. The Mosque of al-Sayyidah Aisha is the only remaining Ottoman-style mosque in Alexandria and serves as a reminder of the city’s rich Islamic culture and heritage. The mosque is typically open during the daytime during Ramadan and prayers are held five times per day. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
