The Monument to the Bersagliere is a war memorial located in Bronte, Sicily, Italy. It was erected in 1931, due to the efforts of the committee of the Berengaria Bersaglieri, to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of the members of the Bersaglieri Corps during World War I. The Bersaglieri were a group of mounted infantry, part of the Italian Army, established by the Minister of War in 1836. These troops were specifically trained for speed. They were known for their ability to march great distances, rapidly and silently, making them a formidable force. At the start of World War I, the Bersaglieri fought as part of the Italian forces on the Italian front, specifically at the Battle of Monte Grappa, as part of the 11th Army Corps. The Monument to the Bersaglieri was designed by Giuseppe Partenio. The monument has a five sections and is divided into sections for heroes, martyrs, rights, justice, and faith. It also features bronze statues of the Bersaglieri, a fountain, and a bronze dove on top.
