, The Cathedral of Saint Patrick and Saint Felim is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Cavan, Ireland. It was consecrated in 1845 to serve as the seat of the Diocese of Kilmore. The cathedral was designed by the English architect John Francis Bentley in the Gothic Revival style. It is one of the best churches in Ireland which you must visit.

History:

The foundation stone of the Cathedral of Saint Patrick and Saint Felim was laid in 1840 by the Most Rev. Dr. M’Cormack, Bishop of Kilmore, who had become the first Bishop of the newly-formed diocese in 1836. The cornerstone of the tower was laid in 1841 and the completed building was consecrated in 1845. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Ireland.
