The Church of Ireland was established at Ballyhaise, County Cavan in 1813 when the people of the area decided it was time for a place of their own to worship. After the Diocese of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh was formed in 1835, the parish became part of that diocese. The church underwent extensive remodelling in 1967-1968, during which some of the original stone was replaced with a more modern structure.
