Armagh Baptist Church was founded in 1863 by Reverend John Archer and began to meet in a school room at Arthur Street. In 1864, the church moved to its current site at Upper English Street and dedicated its first building in 1874. The current building was built in 1939. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Ireland.
