The mosque is U-shaped in plan with a large inner court, surrounded by four iwans. There are three secondary chambers that open into the quibla-iwan, the area facing the direction of Mecca. The mosque features a unique semi-dome opening system that facilitates passage through the main entrance. Flanking the prayer hall and entrance is a large open courtyard, surrounded by the main portals and other structures. The mosque has been restored and recently houses several artifacts from Islamic literature, calligraphy, and Islamic arts.
