The Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows is a parish within the Diocese of Sacramento, California. Established in 1971, the parish is dedicated to honoring Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows and celebrating the Eucharist. The Church of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows is well-known for its diverse membership; its Sunday Mass is celebrated in both English and Spanish. History:

The parish was established in 1971 by Archbishop William K. Weigand of the Archdiocese of Sacramento. The church was originally called ‘St. Clare of Assisi Mission’ and was dedicated to the memory of St. Clare who was a follower of St. Francis of Assisi. In 1977, the parish was renamed ‘Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows’ in honor of the Shrine of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows located in Quito, Ecuador. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Indonesia.
