Overview:
The Tomb of Fateh Khan, also known as Fateh Khan Baba Tomb and Fateh Khan ki Dargah, is an ancient royal mausoleum located in the town of Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1569-1570 in honour of his general and trusted advisor, Raja Fateh Khan. The tomb is a popular tourist attraction and an important pilgrimage spot for Muslims. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The architecture of the tomb is a combination of Persian and Hindu styles. The mausoleum is built from red sandstone, and features a large red dome, surrounded by four smaller domes. The interior is adorned with intricate designs and motifs in white marble. The courtyard of the mausoleum is enclosed within a stone wall and has a mosque, garden, and a well.
