The Onnakesava temple is a 12th-century temple located in the small village of Kesava near Somanathapura, Karnataka, India. The temple was built by the Hoysala dynasty and is a classic example of the Hoysala architecture. The temple's Outer shrine hosts some of the exceptional sculptures of Lord Vishnu and Surya and is known for its gorgeous carvings and sculptures. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Onnakesava temple is well known for its intricate carvings and sculptures and is generally in the shape of a star. The temple features stunning architecture that includes tall Bastions at the base, a tall tower in the center and even miniature shrines at various points.
