Overview:
The Mohari ancient Tomb is a 16th century tomb located in the city of Kodaikanal in India. It is a protected monument maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The tomb was built by a local ruler in honour of a Muslim saint, known as Hazrath Mohari. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Mohari ancient Tomb is built out of granite slabs and stones, with intricately carved designs on them which have been preserved over centuries. The dome of the tomb is said to have the shape of a lotus or pineapple, while decorations all around feature several elements from Hindu, Muslim and Jain cultures. The grave inside the tomb is decorated with flowers and is said to contain the remains of the saint, along with his relics. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
