Tiryvadisulam, also known as Ponniyam, is a megalithic grave yard located in the village of Tiruvadisulam, Tamil Nadu, located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is believed to be the earliest form of burial practice in the region and dates back to the late Neolithic-early Chalcolithic period (ca. 3rd millennium BC). This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The megalithic grave yard at Tiryvadisulam consists of a large number of graves, including burial pits, cists, dolmens and menhirs.
