al is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva situated in the ancient city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India. The other two temples are Kaal Bhairav and Mahakali. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Mahakal is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and also the oldest of all the Jyotirlingas. It is believed to be the most active and powerful of all the 12 Jyotirlingas. Kaal Bhairav temple is located near the Mahakal. It’s dedicated to the tantric avatar of Lord Shiva, Kaal Bhairav. Mahakali temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, the fierce form of Durga, consort of Lord Shiva. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
Interesting facts:
The Mahakal temple features three lingams representing Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha. The temple also has unique idols of many other Hindu Gods.The temple also has a unique arrangement of five Shiva lingas, called Panchamukhi Mahadev.
