Fateh Burj near Anah Gate Overview
Fateh Burj near Anah Gate is the tallest victory tower in India. It was built in 1710 to memorialize the victory of Guru Gobind Singh Ji over the Mughals at the Battle of Anandpur Sahib. It has a height of about 100 meters (330 feet).
Prominent Features
The Fateh Burj near Anah Gate was constructed with a classic Pyramidal tower structure. Its large arch-shaped doorway is exactly 25 feet high, which can be accessed through a flight of steps. The tower is crowned with an iron pinnacle, atop which an eternal flame is kept aglow.
History
Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Sikh Guru, had made Anandpur Sahib his base for battles against the Mughal Empire. On 4 December 1704, the Mughal army laid siege to the city. After months of battle, the siege was eventually broken and the Mughals were defeated. To commemorate this win, Fateh Burj was constructed near Anah Gate.

The Fateh Burj near Anah Gate has several sections within it. A breathtaking view of the Shivalik Range, along with holy scriptures and frescoes, can be seen at the entry gate. The original gate still exists but is no longer in use. It is said that a big statue of Guru Gobind Singh Ji is located at the top of the tower.
