The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) is an international Pentecostal denomination based in Brazil with over 6 million members in more than 40 countries. It was founded in 1977 by the self-proclaimed visionary and faith healer Edir Macedo. The UCKG was founded in 1977 by Edir Macedo after a spiritual experience in which he believed that he had found personal redemption through Jesus Christ.
