The Kitty Brethren Church was first founded in the summer of 1987 by Reverend William R. Slade and a group of members from Loudermilk Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia. Initially called New American Christian Fellowship, the church changed its name shortly after to the Kitty Brethren Church. The church originally purchased an old elementary school building and renovated it for use as its sanctuary. Over the years, the church grew in size and eventually moved to a larger building in Sandy Springs just north of Atlanta.
