Eccles Assembly of God is a Christian church located in Brownwood, Texas. It was established in 1952 and has grown to become one of the largest churches in the town. It is a part of the Assemblies of God denomination and stands on a 130-acre campus. It is one of the best churches in Guyana which you must visit.

History:

The history of Eccles Assembly of God dates back to 1948 when Reverend E.M. Evans, evangelist from the churches of Winter Garden and Orland, Florida, started the independent work of the Assemblies of God in Brownwood, Texas. In 1951, Brother J.C. Peterson was called as the first pastor and the church became an Assemblies of God mission. It was also around this time that Ithel and Effie Eccles donated land to the church. It was renamed as Eccles Assembly of God. In 1966, the Word of Life Youth Center was built on the property, and it was a sign of the strong commitment that the church has to its young people. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Guyana.
