St. Bartolomew Anglican Church was founded in 1867 and was located in the Everton area of Liverpool. The church was built in the city's Gothic Revival style and was established by the Church of England. The original building also included a school which eventually became the date of the present site. In 1976, the original building was destroyed by a fire, and the present church was restored from the original plans and drawings from 1867. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Guyana.
