History:
is a Hindu temple in Surat, Gujarat, India. The temple is part of the Swaminarayan Sampraday, a denomination of Hinduism, associated with Swaminarayan’s doctrine and beliefs. The temple was built by Manibhadra Gadi of Surat during 1820 and 1827. The Mandir has 11 shrines in total out of which 7 are made of stone and 4 are made of marble, except the original one, which is made of sandstone. The central shrine is of Naranarayana, the presiding deity of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. It is one of the best temple in Gujarat which you must visit.

The worship method of Shri Swaminarayan Mandir – Surat is based on the traditional Hindu ideologies and philosophical teachings of Swaminarayan. In the tradition the chanting of Bhajans (devotional hymns) and the recital of devotional stories and scriptures from the Vedas and other Hindu scriptures are integral to the service. Offerings of flowers, incense, and lamps, as well as food, fruits are also made. Aarti (a type of prayer) is performed at the end of the ritual to thank God for his abundant blessings.
