History:

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir - Porbandar is one of the oldest mandirs dedicated to Lord Shri Swaminarayan. It was established in 1828 by Shankaracharya Swami Purushottam Bharati, under the guidance of Acharya Baphuji Shastri, a great scholar, the disciple of Lord Swaminarayan, and his spiritual successor, Acharya Bhakti Yagnapurushdas. : The worship methods at Shri Swaminarayan Mandir - Porbandar in Gujarat are rooted in the traditional Hindu practices of puja (ritual prayer) as prescribed by the teachings of Lord Swaminarayan.
