Zum Friedefürsten church is a Protestant parish church located in the city of Berlin, Germany. The church was built in 1785 to serve the large number of Prussian soldiers in the city. Zum Friedefürsten church is named after Friedrich Wilhelm III, the king of Prussia from 1797 to 1840. It is one of the best churches in Germany which you must visit.

History:

The church was built in the neoclassical style in the late 18th century, and was the first Protestant church to be built in Berlin since the Reformation in 1517. The church served as the local parish church for Prussian soldiers until the beginning of World War I in 1914. In the 1950s, the church was chosen as the location for the memorial service for the victims of the Nazi concentration camps, in September 1951. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Germany.
