History:

Georgia Avenue Church in Georgia is a church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) denomination located in the historically Black neighborhood of Fairburn, Georgia. Founded in the late 1950s by Jim and Marjorie Miller, Georgia Avenue Church has served as a spiritual home, providing community support and guidance for more than a half-century. The church started small as the Millers, with their three children, hospitably invited area families to join them for Sunday services. As the church population grew, so did its programs and mission, and the leadership of the church expanded. The church actively supports the Fairburn community, providing a nutrition program, a clothes closet, counseling services, a teen center, a food bank, a men’s shelter, a clothing bank, and Bible study classes. The leadership also reaches out to the surrounding areas in Fulton County and beyond, expanding relationships and connecting people who could benefit from the programs offered by the church.
