Toivakka Church is a Lutheran Church located in Central Finland. It was built in the 14th century and is one of the oldest churches in Finland. The church has a beautiful baroque style architecture which is an example of the Finnish tradition of building churches. It consists of a single nave, two towers, and a polygonal apse. The exterior of the church is decorated with an arcade, a wooden roof, and a wrought iron bell tower. The Toivakka Church History dates back to the fifteenth century when it was likely founded by Bishop Peder II of Turku. According to a description by Bishop Torgils Forsman, the primeval church was located on a hill right next to the current church. In 1676, the old church was destroyed during a storm and a new one was built in its place. Since then, the church has undergone several renovations. In the 19th century, the sacristy was renewed and the old bell tower was replaced by a new one. There are several artworks inside the church and some of these are from the late 15th century and early 16th century.
