The two churches, the Swedish Free Church and the English Evangelical Church, combined to form a single Methodist church. The church was the first Methodist church to be established in northern Minnesota, and belonged to the St. Louis District of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Over the years, the church has gone through various name and building changes, but still serves the same community today.
