St. Mary's Church, Oldberrow In England: History,Facts, & Services
History:
The church was originally established in the 11th century before the Norman conquest and it is possible that an earlier church may have been on the site. It is first mentioned in an historical record in 1157. During the 14th century, a major enlargement of the church took place, the work taking up to 30 years. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.

The vestry, which dates from no later than 1600, is the oldest part of the church. This was followed by the addition of galleries around 1737 by William Bradshaw, a Huguenot refugee. Inside, a monument commemorates Thomas Morris of Oldberrow House, who funded the renovation of the church in the 19th century.

The Church is part of the benefice of Henley with Wootton Wawen and Oldberrow, in the Diocese of Coventry. Services are held on a regular basis and include weekly morning services, special services throughout the year, and occasional festival services.
