Saint Aidan's C of E Church was built in 1895 and consecrated by the Lord Bishop of Wakefield in 1895. The church was founded by Rev. Dr. Thomas Smith, who was vicar of Heptonstall, Halifax. The church was built in the traditional gothic style and has a fine array of stained glass windows, as well as a best designed lych gate at the entrance. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.
