History:
The Pyramid of Khentkaus III is thought to have been built during the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. It was commissioned by Menkaure, who was a Pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty, in order to be the final resting place of his daughter, Khentkaus III. The pyramid was first discovered in the 1860s by Auguste Mariette, who excavated and found the entrance to the pyramid and its internal chambers. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Egypt.
