Mastaba of Ti is a 5,500-year-old tomb located near Saqqara, Egypt. It is believed to have been constructed during the reign of Pharaoh Unas of the 5th Dynasty (2498-2345 BCE). The tomb is famous for its elaborate decorative reliefs, which are considered to be some of the most detailed and beautiful of their era. It was the first tomb to use painted reliefs, a revolutionary artistic technique that would make its way into the artistry of temples and tombs in the Three Pyramid Age. The site is believed to have been constructed around 2400 BCE, which would make it one of the oldest examples of a fully developed mastaba. The tomb was built for the vizier (high-ranking administrator) Ti, who was a major political figure during the 5th Dynasty. His tomb is believed to contain the earliest-known preserved paintings, predating even the Great Pyramids.
