Rome History
Rome was founded in 753 BC and became one of the most powerful and advanced cities in the world. It was the center of the vast Roman Empire, one of the greatest empires in world history. Rome had victories in many wars, but it was eventually conquered and replaced by the Byzantine Empire in 476AD. Rome eventually came back under papal control in 799AD and then became the capital of Italy in 1870.
