It is believed to be located on the site of a Benedictine Monastery built at the end of the sixth century. The church is dedicated to Saint Pellegrino, the fourth-century bishop of Ravenna, and it dates back to the 12th century. The church houses a number of artwork, including a painting of the Madonna with a Cherub and a painting of San Pellegrino by Correggio, as well as a tabernacle and several Renaissance and Baroque sculptures.
