Nusretiye Mosque, also known as Beylerbeyi Mosque, is located in the Beylerbeyi district in the Uskudar district of Istanbul, Turkey. The construction of the mosque began in 1824, on orders from Sultan Mahmud II. The architect was Nikoğos Balyan, a member of the leading Armenian family of imperial court architects in the Ottoman Empire, and it was completed in 1826. It has a single dome, flanked by a pair of minarets. The exterior of the mosque is plain, with a complex and lavishly decorated interior.
