Founded in 1960 by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, the school offers a diverse, challenging and supportive educational environment to students in grades 6-12. The school has a long history of excellence. The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia arrived in Baltimore from Nashville, Tennessee, in 1860, and remained in the city for almost a century. During this time, they established four schools, including St. Mary's Academy, which would eventually become Dominican Convent. In 1960, the School Sisters of Notre Dame purchased and established the current site for Dominican Convent.
