Koç (1926–2015), a major figure in Turkey's industrial, automotive, media, and energy sectors. The main architect of the mosque is Hüsrev Tayla, of Tabanlıoğlu Architects. The design for the mosque was inspired by the traditional Ottoman florid style. The mosque has four minarets and a large dome. There are also two levels of thin minarets, as well as one tall slender minaret. The Prayer Hall in Şakirin Mosque has a seating capacity of 900 people, while the Multipurpose Hall can accommodate up to 1800 people.
