Westminster Cathedral is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales. It is located in Victoria, London close to the Houses of Parliament. The Cathedral dates back to 1895 and is the largest of the five Catholic Cathedrals in England. It was designed in the Byzantine-Romanesque style and is home to concerts, photographic exhibitions and other cultural events. Throughout its history, the Cathedral has been the site of many important religious events, including the Beatification of Cardinal Newman in 2010 and the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. It is also renowned for its vast collection of mosaics, frescoes and statues, which includes works of renowned artists such as Sangallo, Bellini and Ghirlandaio. The Cathedral’s services involve chanting and the traditional Latin Mass, and the reverberating music of the Cathedral Choir.
