History:

The original construction of Viborg Cathedral began in 1130 when Bishop Eskil had it erected on the site of a previous church which had been destroyed by a fire. It was built in an early Gothic style and was the first three-aisled church in Scandinavia. In later centuries the church underwent several rebuilding projects and renovations to suit changing tastes and trends.
