History:

Van Golu, also known as Lake Van, is a saltwater lake located in Eastern Turkey. The lake is the largest lake in the country and is situated at an altitude of 1,640m above sea level. Van Golu is estimated to be approximately 24 million years old and is roughly 600km2 in size. The lake is fed by a number of rivers, including the Batman, the Özlüce and the Van Segri, and is drained by the Murat River.
