The church was first established in 1868 under the journeyman ministry of Reverend A.C. Smith. In 1877, local sots and bay elders received permission to organize the congregation of Springtown Baptist Church. Its first building was constructed in 1883, and much of the original structure remains in use today. Since the 1960s, the congregation has grown to over 900 members. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Denmark.
