History:

Sankt Thomas Kirke was designed in 1931 by architect Gunnar Aspelund and opened in 1932. Its construction occurred just after the Norwegian monarchy assumed control of the Lutheran Church of Norway which had previously operated independently of the state. The design of the church incorporates many features of the Art Nouveau movement of the time, including round stained glass windows, a conical spire, and high, pointed arches. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Denmark.
