Godthaab Church, Copenhagen is an Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark located in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The church was built between 1867 and 1871 and designed by Daniel Nicolai Thuren. The church was built on the site of an older church that was built in 1683 and demolished in 1868.
Godthaab Church is known for its neo-Gothic architecture and tall spire, which is visible from many points throughout Copenhagen. The church has a large bronze bell in the tower, which is rung every Sunday to mark the service times. The church is also known for its richly decorated interior with frescoes, stained glass windows and wood carvings of the Evangelists.
Godthaab Church offers services each Sunday at 10:00am and 11:30am. On the fourth Sunday of each month, a joint English service is held at 11:30am. Throughout the year, special services are held for Christmas, Easter and other major religious holidays. The church also holds regular musical concerts, lectures, baptisms and confirmation services.
