Church of Our Lady of the Remedies is one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. It is located near the town proper of Baler, Aurora. Built by the Franciscans in the late 16th century, the Church is a baroque-style stone church that has withstood the rigors of time and weather. The Church of Our Lady of the Remedies was established in 1608 by Fray Varona de Galende, a Franciscan priest who arrived with Spanish soldiers in Baler. The Church was originally used as a chapel of ease to minister to pilgrims who visited the remote area that is today known as Baler. The location of the Church was chosen due to its construction between two dividing rivers, known as Dilim and Sibalom. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Spain.

The Church of Our Lady of the Remedies has two façades, the main façade facing the river side and a smaller façade facing the town. It also has an interior patio.
