Chiesa di San Paolo alla Regola is a Roman Catholic church in Rome, Italy. Founded in 472 and situated in the Rione Campitelli, it is dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle. The church is of a Romanesque style and was heavily restored in the 18th century. It is known as a home to a number of renowned works of art and contains some of the first sculptures in the Baroque style. The church houses the tomb of the 15th-century Humanist Pomponio Leto, a member of the Roman Academy of Arcadia, which was the first literary academy in the world. The church is also home to the remains of a small basilica, believed to have been founded by Pope Gregory the Great. This basilica is thought to have been built during the 5th or 6th century and was one of the first churches in Rome. The church is also a popular location for Catholic weddings due to its proximity to the main city square, Piazza Navona.
