It was established in 2003 and is now one of the largest museums in the Middle East and one of the most important museums in the world. The museum houses the largest collection of ancient and modern Egyptian art, artifacts and artifacts from the Greco-Roman period, Islamic Egypt, Coptic Egypt, and Medieval Egypt. The museum also has exhibits from the prehistory, Bronze and Iron Ages, Ptolemaic Period, Greco-Roman Period, Byzantine Period, Islamic Period and the Mamluk Period. It also contains artifacts from the pre-dynastic period and the Early Dynastic Period. The museum also features a special exhibition of royal mummies from the royal tombs of the Ptolemies, as well as a new exhibition about the ancient Egyptian pyramids.
