Worship Method:

Trichambaram Temple is a famous temple in Kerala located in the district of Kannur. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu in the form of Sri Krishna. Worship of the Lord in the temple is carried out in accordance with the traditional Kerala temple customs as prescribed in the Agama Shastras. The daily rituals in the temple begin with the Kakkikalu in the early morning at about 4 am. This is followed by deeparadhana and then Abhishekam to the deity. Then offering of flowers, coconut, fruits, food and incense sticks are offered to the Lord. Then the religious hymns are chanted honoring the Lord. After the chanting, the deity is taken out in a procession around the temple precincts. The main puja of the day is conducted in the afternoon, which is from 11 am to 1 pm. After this, there is the distribution of prasad to all the devotees and the opening of the temple doors for darshan. On special occasions such as festivals, bigger poojas and rituals are conducted in the temple and the deity is taken out in a grand procession around the temple. Offerings of holy butter, Panchamrit, rice and sandal paste are offered to the deity during these rituals.
