Worship Method:

The worship method of Andoor Kandan Sree Dharma Sastha Temple is similar to the rituals generally followed at other temples in South India, and follows the classical 16 step Mantrasthanam ritual, along with strict adherence to the Vaikhanasa Agama. The morning rituals (Pooja) generally starts at around 5:00 am and consist of similar parts, such as Mangalasasanam (chanting of Chenkadu Manthram), Nivedyam, Pratah Puja, Bhoothalaviyal and Nivedana. One of the most important feature of this temple is the conduct of Pooja in the presence of Lord Nandikeswara, who acts as a witness. Lord Nandikeswara and His consort Visala Devi are respectfully invoked during the Pooja. After the completion of 16 steps, the Nivedyam (offerings) are presented to Lord Sastha.
