St. Norbert In Czechia: History,Facts, & Services
History:
St. Norbert was founded in 1277, and Vratislav of Břeclav of the Znojmo-Moravian line started the construction of the church in 1337. It was damaged in the Hussite Wars and was reconstructed in 1419. From the 15th to 17th century, alterations and renovation took place until the church was finally rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1668. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.

St. Norbert is known for its baroque interior including a high altar, two side altars, and an organ gallery. The church also features a bell-tower which dates back to 1803 and is the only free-standing one in the Moravian region of Czechia.
