The Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in Czechia is a Roman Catholic church located in the historical centre of Prague. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Prague and a Neo-Renaissance architectural masterpiece. Built in the early 19th century, its design is a combination of Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance elements. The cathedral is the final resting place of several prominent Czechs, including composers Antonín Dvořák and Bedřich Smetana, playwright Karel Čapek, and President Václav Havel.

History:
The foundation stone of the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul was laid in 1885, two years after the death of Saint Vojtěch, the first Bishop of Prague. A wish to honor St. Vojtěch’s memory was a driving force of the project. The building of the church was completed in 1929, when it was consecrated by the then-Archbishop of Prague, Dětmar Hilarion Tyttl. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Czechia.

The Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul has two towers with an impressive 13 bells. The main façade, crafted from Carrara marble, stretches an impressive 84 meters. The dimensions of the building itself are 72 meters long and 36 meters wide.
